PILATES
A philosophy of movement that once understood can be applied to all movement. When taught correctly, pilates can be beneficial to anyone, from athletes to the elderly.The powerhouse, or center of the body, is where all pilates movement initiates. Develop strong abdominals and be challenged mentally and physically.
QIGONG
Qigong is an ancient form of energy movement originating thousands of years ago in China. The word is pronounced Chee-gong. It is a combination of two meanings. Qi means energy and gong means skill, therefore, Qigong is simply energy skill. There are three forms of Qigong-martial, spiritual and medical. The movement classes at Half Moon Yoga will follow the protocols of Medical Qigong.

By participating in a qigong movement class, you can learn to move the energies in your body and learn also meditation techniques to quiet the mind and promote a more stress-free life for yourself. You will learn the basic principles of Chinese medicine and how you can use them to improve your life. Many people report that the techniques improve their lives physically, mentally and emotionally.
ASHTANGA
The primary series is traditionally taught with a Western flair. The Mix begins with Salutations that leads into a variety of poses. Come practice this challenging form of yoga therapy that builds strength, stamina and endurance. Be prepared to discover(as in all yoga) your inner strength, authenticity, calmness, and deepen your connection to God. Be prepared to build internal heat and sweat, so bring a towel. All levels are welcome but previous yoga experience preferred.
BLISSFUL FLOW
A play of movement which is led by the breath and combines affirmations with guided imagery to help transcend the body and heighten awareness. All levels are welcome. Be prepared to have a "moving experience" since most classes are themed.
ANANDA YOGA
A gentle approach to the postures for all levels focusing on one pose at a time to have the full experience of truly being in it. Affirmations are used along with poses to raise the level of one´s awareness and to help one become more positive and spiritually focused. Classes end with seated meditation.
SLOW VINYASA FLOW
A continuous flow of sequenced poses meant to harmonize movement with the breath so one can burn through built up tension and tightness from day to day "drama" and "trauma" trapped in the body and mind. Students should have some range of motion and be able to perform lunges.
YIN YOGA
Relaxed and passive practice where you hold poses longer to nurture the joints, organs and deeper connective tissues of the body. Unravel the stress that typically builds on Mondays so you can coast through the remainder of the week!

PRENATAL YOGA
Practice designed to help the expectant yogini feel empowered, inspired and connected during this sacred journey.

HEART RHYTHM MEDITATION
This is a meditation class for everyone. HRM offers a practical tool you can use to quickly enter into a state of coherence (also known as The Zone). When we´re in The Zone we feel less stress, our performance improves, we experience better health, and a more balanced life. Each class starts with the basics, then moves into different practices. You will learn this heart-focused meditation that has ancient roots and modern applications. It will help you cultivate a deep sense of inner calm and give you increased energy and confidence. This is typically a seated meditation.

RECOVERY YOGA
The definition of recovery means, "to return to an original state," or "gradual healing." Recovery can apply to many different areas such as eating disorders, sexual abuse recovery, relationship issues, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, or self growth. This class uses Hatha yoga techniques, paired with affirmations to improve focus, while going through physical movements. The goal of this class is to retrain the mind to think positively, promote healthy self-esteem, and find a personal level of inner peace.
