Our Mission at Half Moon Yoga is: “Heart centered healing for opening bodies, calming minds and creating peaceful spirits.” Located in Franklin, Tennessee, Half Moon Yoga Healing is the place to practice in the Cool Springs area! Half Moon Yoga was founded 10 years ago in Franklin. In January 2009 Robbie Short took the reins as the new owner with a focus on holistic yoga, offering traditional and authentic yoga focused on the total mind/body connection. In 2013 Robbie will be partnering with business person, Tracy Homier, expanding the current operation with new classes. Plans also include offering a variety of related holistic healing options.
Yoga has been around for thousands of years, and has been proven to be an extremely beneficial holistic practice. With a regular practice, the benefits stemming from this ancient art and science can be: more flexibility, more focus and strength, reduction of stress and physical/mental tension, reduction of blood pressure, lower cholesterol, reduction of hypertension, reduction of inflammation of pain from fybromyalgia and arthritis, improvement of the natural alignment of vertebrae, rejuvenation to organs, calming the nervous system, natural cleansing of digestive tract and endocrine system, balancing the equilibrium of the brain and, most importantly, unifying your mind, body and spirit!
Half Moon Yoga does not look at Yoga just for fitness, even though that is a great benefit. Our instructors are talented, creative, and specially trained and certified, and we try to hold true to our Yoga styles and lineages. We offer classes for many ages and ALL “levels”. If you need assistance finding the right one for you, feel free to contact us for guidance! Half Moon Yoga embraces every lineage of yoga. We currently offer Ananda Yoga (a meditative practice that uses affirmations), Blissful Flow (a blend of Ananda and Vinyasa), Vinyasa Yoga (a flowing sequence of poses that is linked by breath), Yin Yoga (a relaxed longer held postures that benefits joints and connective tissues), Ashtanga Yoga (more challenging rigorous practice meant to make you sweat for detoxification), Prenatal Yoga (journey of deeper connection to body and baby), Gentle Hatha Yoga (slow relaxed practice-good for both beginners and beyond), Yoga Kids (playful practice designed for ages 3-teens, depending on class) at sporadic times of year in the park or through the summer, plus we have recently added Recovery Yoga (to help heal those struggling with life challenges, diseases, addictions or major shifts in life).
