Candlelight Healing Circle Meditation
In Kate’s 9:30 a.m. Tues. and Thurs. classes, the students have been going through a six week series about perspective. This is the last week and even after all of the work we’ve done to shift our perspective on the difficult and immovable things in our lives, we may still just need support!
Friday July 25th from 7-8 p.m. will be an opportunity to come together as a community to love and support ourselves and each other. We will be practicing a form of meditation known as tonglen.
Pema Chondron describes it as such: “The tonglen practice is a method for connecting with suffering —ours and that which is all around us— everywhere we go. It is a method for overcoming fear of suffering and for dissolving the tightness of our heart. Primarily it is a method for awakening the compassion that is inherent in all of us.”
Sunday, 7/27/14, “Serenity Salt Cave + Yoga Nidra”, $30
Robbie will lead Yoga Nidra, the state of sleepless sleep, while everyone reclines to relax in an anti-gravity chair inside the cave. The Serenity Salt Cave is made of Himalayan Salt which carries 84 trace elements and minerals within it. This particular salt holds healing properties and is noted for benefiting asthma, allergies, boosting immunity, helping skin conditions and more! Its located in Nolensville which is only a short drive from Franklin. We carpool and caravan from the studio at 2:30, however, you can also drive yourself and meet us at the cave at 3pm. Our session runs from 3-4pm. Absorb and breathe in the healing salt while shifting into the calmer/cooler aspect of the nervous system and allowing the mind to drop into theta waves that we typically only experience in deep realms of sleep. AAAHHHH….
Sunday, 7/27/14, “Third Eye & Crown Chakra” with Robbie Short, $20, 4:30-5:45pm, * please note the time change due to Salt Cave *
So far this year, we have offered about one chakra subject matter per month. In July, we will conclude this series with the last two…the 6th and the 7th. The 6th is Robbie’s personal favorite and the 7th is just icing on the cake! These are the top two energy centers within the human body and each holds some powerful and potent energy to help us climb the ladder of our spiritual path. By learning about the chakras, we can recognize when “we are off”, “feel imbalanced or in disharmony with ourselves/others/ and life”, we can easily “notice how life shows up and how those life issues coincide with particular ailments we experience as a result of stress”. Its a fascinating subject matter and we hope you guys have enjoyed this particular series! Please feel free to color coordinate with the theme by either wearing a deep indigo blue, sky blue, or purple shade within your attire:)
Sunday, 8/3/14, “Gut Health” with Dani Williamson, $30, 3:00-5:00pm *this may sell out so please pre-register*
Many of you may already know Dani Williamson from our previous workshop, “Hormonal Health for Women” or from Cool Springs Family Medicine located behind Whole Foods. She is extremely knowledgable when it concerns taking responsibility for your own health! Cool Springs family Medicine has an amazing reputation in this area for helping and educating patients on self-care, alternative care, and preventative health, offering holistic offerings, as well as diagnosing and medicating the western way! I have been lucky to know Dani for years and have seen her interest expand from teaching yoga and being a practicing midwife & doula to her degree from Vanderbilt and becoming this awesome healthcare provider she is today! Hippocrates once said, “Let food be thy medicine”. Yogis say,” Most Diseases begin in the inner organs”. Dani said in our recent workshop, “Gut health should be one of our primary focus points and has a direct effect on our endocrine system too”. Please pre-register as we are already getting reservations so this may sell out. You will be excited to receive as much knowledge as you do within these two hours.
Sunday, 8/10/14, “Restorative Yoga + Live Mellow Music”, with Robbie Short & Massood Taj, $30, 3:00-5:00pm
The month of August is hot & hectic so we want this month’s restorative workshop to be special. August is when parents have to prepare to change their schedules and create more routine after the summer break from school. Its a stressful transition for both the children & parents at first. If you are retired, you may have found yourself busy with yard work and so busy traveling that this time of the year may make you seem out of breath. Let us provide some solace to help you slow down to sooth your soul! Massood will bring in his array of instruments to lull you into relaxation. The only regret you will have is if you feel drawn to come but don’t…listen to that inner call & fulfill it with us!
Sunday, 8/17/14, “Serenity Salt Cave Meditation” with Robbie Short, $30, 3:00-4:00pm *must prepay to reserve your spot*
Lets gather to lounge in anti-gravity chairs in a Himalayan Salt cave designed to give a ‘womb like feel’. This location is in Nolensville so you can carpool with us from the studio at 2:30 or you can meet us there at 3pm! Himalayan Salt contains 84 trace minerals so its purifying and holds healing properties. While you are led through a yoga nidra, the state of sleepless sleep, a fine mist of this salt will be released into the cave for all to breathe in. Breathe In..invite yourself to go within. Breathe Out…invite relaxation in. Breathe in…allow the salt to flow through. Breathe Out…allow the toxins to flow out. Breathing In…feeling renewed. Breathing Out…feeling refreshed. If you want to add something extra to your visit at the cave, they offer ion foot baths that will also assist pulling out toxins and allergens!
Saturday, 8/23/13, “Solace in Silence” with Kate Moyer & Robbie Short, $40, 4:00-8:00pm
All too often our lives are busier & louder than we can manage. We were not created to take in such constant input. Continuing to function this way, wears us down physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually! In this workshop, you will experience the healing power of silence. We will create a space to receive through yoga, relaxation, and meditation. We will also share a healthy meal together without speech. As you walk into the studio, you will take a vow of silence for the entire 4 hours and possibly beyond if you choose to extend it. Each moment of quiet time despite the activity should assist in helping you feel restored. This workshop can be a vacation from the busy summer and offer you a fresh start for the upcoming fall. Come find your balanced self within the quiet stillness the studio provides.
Sunday, 8/24/14, “AcuDetox + Yoga Nidra”, with Ann Coffey and Robbie Short, $30, 3:00-5:00pm *must prepay to reserve your spot*
Yin Yoga is said to support the meridians according to Chinese Medicine so that is how we begin this workshop. As we practice yoga, Ann will go around the circle to needle each ear with 5 acupuncture points. Once you have the needles set, you will drop to Savasana(deep relaxation). Once everyone is needled, Robbie will guide Yoga Nidra. This workshop not only teaches you the fine art of relaxation but it will help one to relieve stress, tension, & anxiety. AcuDetox is used for these purposes as well as treat those suffering from addictions, cravings, depression, PTSD & ADHD.
