***Must prepay by 9/3/14 either on-line under rates through Paypal or in the studio
Paddle Board Yoga has been a new craze hitting our lakes these last couple years. Robbie just tried this for the first time with another Half Moon student and thought it would be fun to spearhead a group from Half Moon one evening. Date and Time has been set and we have only 12 boards reserved! To reserve your spot to try yoga on the water please sign up at nashvillepaddle.com Please note that they sometimes have difficulty with their software so feel free to contact Nashville paddle board by phone if you have any trouble signing up! The cost includes the instruction and board rental. They will indicate to you where to go on Percy Priest Lake to find our cove. As yogis, we need to remember life is also about Lila, the cosmic play of life. This is the perfect opportunity to let go of some of our serious nature approaching yoga and just have fun! Expect to get wet! The goal is not necessarily to stay on the board…just challenge your balance and enjoy the adventure of it all while watching the sun set before our eyes.

Details to come…
Monday, 9/08/14, “FREE Meditation & Talk with Swami Kenanda”, 7:00-9:00pm
Swami Kenanda was intiated by his guru in India many years ago and when he returned to the States, he created an ashram in Minnesota. He uses an ash from India infused with powerful mantra vibrations upon the third eye and gives you simple yet precise instruction for a gentle meditative technique. We sit for an hour and then he opens the discussion with a brief chant, a talk, and then time for a Q&A. I have experienced breakthroughs each time I have meditative in his presence so am looking fwd to him sharing his light and knowledge with us again! For this night only will we be replacing the usual Prenatal Class as this is when he is traveling through this area. Its also his birthday so we can celebrate with him!
Sunday, 9/14/14, “Restorative Yoga & Healing Frequencies”, with Robbie Short & Sally Reid, 3-5:00pm, $30
Sally Reid has been using frequencies in her latest meditations at Half Moon and this month our restorative practice will invite them in! Each one comes with a color and visual and some even have particular musical tones/notes that correlate with them. While you take rest in these poses that Robbie instructs, Sally will guide the simple and supportive meditations. Please note that these frequencies/colors are not the chakras…they have their own symbolism and hold their own healing properties and its quite powerful. Be prepared to have a moving experience even in the midst of stillness.
Sunday, 9/14/14, “FREE Singing Bowl Meditation”, with Robbie Short, 5:30-6:30pm
In August, Robbie’s monthly restorative workshop hosted Massood and his live music but this month we are entering into the Sanctuary & Sound of Silence alongside the Sonic Sound of our new Singing Bowls! The room will be quiet so you can enter into pure positive peace so the only noise you may experience is any instruction, the mindfulness bells, and whatever lies within. September is National Yoga Month so we celebrate in this practice by returning to yoga’s roots …learning to sit in meditation. The vibrations of the bowls are known to help remove blockages in mind/body…so have an attitude to receive and feel the vibrations:)
Saturday, 9/20/14, “Solace in Silence” with Kate Moyer & Robbie Short, $40, 4:00-8:00pm
***Must prepay by 9/17/14 either on-line under rates through Paypal or in the studio
All too often our lives are busier & louder than we can manage. We were not created to take in such constant input. Continuing to function this way, wears us down physically, mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually! In this workshop, you will experience the healing power of silence. We will create a space to receive through yoga, relaxation, and meditation. We will also share a healthy meal together without speech. As you walk into the studio, you will take a vow of silence for the entire 4 hours and possibly beyond if you choose to extend it. Each moment of quiet time despite the activity should assist in helping you feel restored. This workshop can be a vacation from the busy summer and offer you a fresh start for the upcoming fall. Come find your balanced self within the quiet stillness the studio provides.
Sunday, 9/21/14, 7pm, “FREE Yoga Downtown Franklin Square”,
with Robbie Short sponsored by Lululemon
Lululemon at McEwen voted Robbie Short as yoga ambassador 2 years ago. They asked her, “what is a goal we can help you accomplish?” She responded that she had been meeting in Pinkerton Park for 4 years offering FREE community yoga every September during National Yoga Month helping to celebrate Global Mala & National Peace Day but wanted it to be ‘bigger’. She had a vision of taking it to the Franklin roundabout downtown. Last year, they sponsored this event even though this idea was initially shot down by the city. After a meeting in Memphis with someone telling city leaders they needed to support citizen ideas, one of Franklin’s alderman’s returned and reversed the decision:) Lululemon is sponsoring this as the 2nd annual community yoga downtown Franklin. Robbie will be teaching along with another teacher from Brentwood. Please help us support this event, esp after the city reversed their decision. Lets show Franklin Yoga is alive and well in our community. It would be great to see as many from Half Moon as possible…lets represent
Sunday, 9/28/14, “Yoga for Headaches”, with Linda Clark, 3:00-5:00pm, $30
Did you know yoga can help with headaches? Most headaches are brought on by carrying too much tension in the upper back, shoulders, and neck. Yoga helps to lesson the tension as well as help us to decrease our stress levels. Linda will be using a recipe of poses created by BKS Iyengar. Iyengar just recently passed at 95 and will forever be known and well respected in the yoga community! His knowledge and dedication to the practice will be shared by his student and our teacher, Linda Clark.
Saturday, 10/4/14, “Music City Yoga Festival”, with Kate Puncochar & Friends, 9am-1pm / 2pm-6pm
Our very own, Kate Puncochar, traveled to Africa two years ago to participate/volunteer for the African Yoga Project. She returned home so inspired she created the Music City Yoga Festival that was held last year at the Factory. This brought together vendors and yoga teachers across the Nashville area and it raised $12k and 100% went to charity! This year, its being held in Nashville in two segments 9am-1pm as well as 2-6pm. Please google Music City Yoga Festival to purchase tickets knowing its going for a good cause. The African Yoga Project is helping to train and fund teachers to spread the love of yoga. The teachers there go into the prisons, streets, and orphanages changing one life at a time, one pose at a time, one breath at a time, and one savasana at a time:)
